Philadelphia’s first casino is set to open its doors in a matter of weeks, and it will not be discriminating against local wiseguys or convicted felons barred from Atlantic City gambling centers, myFOXphilly.com reported late Thursday.

Canadian gambling figures for 2009 remained close to the numbers produced in 2008, but with online gambling on the horizon in several provinces, the net gambling revenue could increase dramatically in the coming years.

The online gambling website Betcha.com has been shut down by the Washington Supreme Court. The justices ruled that the site was offering illegal gambling because of the fees they charge.

The Alabama Supreme Court has been aiding Governor Robert Riley throughout his attempt to shut down the gambling establishments in the state. On Friday, the Supreme Court issued yet another positive ruling for the gambling Task Force.
